Learning Support
As part of our system coherence goal, ISG recognizes the pivotal role
of learning support in fostering an inclusive and effective educational
environment. By looking at the needs of students across the district, we
identified that some students needed additional academic support to
achieve their academic potential.
In 2023-24, we were committed to enhancing our approach by developing
shared agreements through a learning support handbook. Teacher leaders
worked collaboratively to develop the shared agreements that would
provide the highest quality of instruction for all students. Grounded in the
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, our strategy ensured
that classroom teachers deliver the majority of high-quality, evidence-
based instruction while learning support staff were in place to offer students
additional learning opportunities aligned to classroom expectations.
Multilingual Learning
Acknowledging the diverse linguistic needs in our schools, we understand
that additional academic support is crucial for all students to reach their full
academic potential.
In 2023-24, we advanced our efforts by establishing shared agreements
through a multilingual learning handbook. This initiative was part of our
broader Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, which ensured
that classroom teachers provide high-quality, evidence-based instruction
while our multilingual learning support staff offered supplemental learning
opportunities aligned with classroom objectives.
Teacher leaders collaboratively developed these shared agreements to en-
sure the highest quality of instruction is accessible for students, reinforcing
our dedication to nurturing every learner’s linguistic abilities and academic
growth.
